Please Don't Nominate Anyone For The EVAs, Thanks.
I'd just like to thank everyone for not nominating themselves or someone they know for an EVA. I've heard that there have been so few nominations that my chances of winning some easy cash (and getting to maybe hang out with bigshot Robert Enright), are phenomenal. So thanks everybody for helping my career along, and thanks in advance for continuing to not nominate anybody for the Monday deadline. Cheers.

i'm sorry. I didn't think this was the year for me, and I didn't have ready access to slides from someone else in this part of the world... that's the part that makes it a little tricky.

Just to clarify, the EVAs are getting nominations...but VANL needs more, a more top quality nominations to launch this awards in style and to impress the jury. There is a considerable amount of effort going into the awards, businesses are donating money, The Rooms has signed on to host and it's going ot be a great party...JUST FOR US...the visual arts community...we've got to start blowing our own horn...celebrating what we bring to Nfld and Lab Culture and the community at large. And if you're sqeamish about nominting yourselves...don't be. The ECMAs, the MIA awards all those are structured like that. It's all about involving the community and promoting visual artists. No one will actually know if you've nomianted yourself. So sign up for the EVAs and come to the party!
I want to nominate Anne Troake...I'll have to look thru this blog to see if I can find the link and the regulations..by the way, how does one join VANL, although I've been painting for more than a decade I'm trying my best to be ego-free, so I haven't really sought any peer review locally but am still interested in the goings on. As well Craig, I come in here sporatically and even though I don't always agree with you I am pleased to see people voicing opinions and challenging their viewers.
